Overview - About CHEQ Policy Management Rules
The CHEQ Policy Management feature enables you to view policy rules that are defined specifically for your site. Rules are designed to identify visits that are legitimate even though they have characteristics that are detected by CHEQ as invalid visitors (IVT). For example, QA automation tools or good bots such as the Google bot do not represent converting visitors but should not be blocked.
The rules are defined based on a calibration process that is performed by the CHEQ Data Team.
The team uses collected data that is reviewed by you together with CHEQ Customer Success in order to address your specific needs.
As part of the Policy Management feature, you can view policy rules from a dedicated page within the Paradome Platform. Each CHEQ solution has its own list of policy rules including both currently active rules as well as rules that are defined for possible future use but are set as inactive.
The Policy Management Editor displays all rules created for an account and all crawlers detected in the account. The Editor enables authorized users to create custom rules, edit custom rule details, activate/deactivate all rules and set policies for rules and crawlers.
There are two types of policies:
-
Allow - This policy type refers to visitors that are detected as invalid visitors but should be allowed regardless of any suspicious characteristics, based on client feedback and CHEQ recommendations. These visitors are both allowed and presented within the Paradome platform as valid visitors.
-
Allow & Exclude from Data - This policy type refers to visitors who are detected as IVT but are allowed as a result of the policy, and they are not presented as visits within the Paradome platform.
This page also provides information about the number of ‘allowed’ visits resulting from the policy rules.
A Policy Applied option, available in the Dashboard and Analytics modules, lets you toggle your view of the data, at any time, between a view that shows what the data would look like if no rules were applied (based on full detection) and a view of the data with the policy rules in effect.
